CELEBRATING CHILDRENS' DAY THE PATHLIGHT WAY

Childrens’ Day this year was jam-packed with fun activities for the students of Pathlight School. With telematches, class parties, art exhibition, fancy dress contest and an unforgettable concert, the teachers of the committee truly outdid themselves.

The Track 1 students had a special treat with a roving magician doing tricks and also had the opportunity to visit each other’s classes during the class party. Not to be left out were the Track 2 students who had an adrenaline pumping telematch. They were cheering and spurring each other to the finish line. And by the end of the telematch, they were all winners for their good sportsmanship.

The fun did not end there, the concert started with a bagpiper who has won many awards in the region, the kids were treated to familiar tunes such as ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’ and also traditional Scottish tunes. Next up, were the ardent Star Wars fans who graciously took time off to give the kids an up close and personal session with their favourite characters.

The puppetry show got the Pathlighters engaged but the teachers who were watching over the students suddenly got their attention aroused by the magician from Raffles Junior College. Some were even deliberating and trying to demystify his tricks.

What is Children’s Day without the Performance Arts team? The students did a wonderful rendition of ‘Everything is Beautiful’ that tugged the heartstrings of the audience. Not to be upstaged by the students, the teachers treated Pathlighters with their Broadway performance of ‘The Candyman, they later rained candies on the kids which got them really excited.

Childrens’ Day this year was a remarkable one and the students will not forget it, they went home with their goodie bags compliments of the school and teachers. The teachers deserve a pat on their backs for a job well-done. The school would also like to thank everyone involved for making that day a special one.
