The overall pass rate is 75%.
Supervisor of School, Ms Phua credited the teachers, “Credit must go to their teachers who were rigorous and firm in their belief that the students are not ‘disabled’ and should do their best. I will be quick to reiterate that academics, whilst important, is only one part of the Pathlight education. The students receive a good dose of social skills, daily living skills and IT skills trainings as well. The aim is to get as many of them to either further education or employment so they can contribute to Singapore.”
2007 GCE ‘N’ Level Results Release
As Pathlight is a new school, there are a lot less older students than the primary school which houses the bulk of the student population.
8 students sat for this year’s GCE ‘N’ Levels.
100% passed or qualified to the next level.
GCE NA (Normal Academics) Cohort
To qualify to do the higher-level (GCE ‘O’), one has to achieve an English pass and aggregate score of < or equal 10 for best 3 subjects.
- National Average who achieved qualification = 72.5%
- Pathlighters who achieved qualification = 100%
- For 6 out of the 9 subjects taken by students, Pathlighters achieved 100% passes.
GCE NT (Normal Technical) Cohort
- At the national level, all NT students qualified for the ITE.
- At Pathlight similarly, all NT students qualified for the ITE.
Kudoes to the Secondary School teachers who walked the extra mile to support this year’s GCE students - many of whom joined Pathlight only in their teens.
