On 6 February 2007, Primary 1 to 3 students were treated to a demonstration by the Civil Defence team from Ang Mo Kio fire station.
The contact time started with a sergeant from the team giving a brief talk on what to do when there is a fire. There was a question and answer session.
The students waited anxiously for the fire truck to arrive. They were seated outside the school hall and along the sheltered walkway.
The firemen gave an introduction on what they were going to do. They set up a large wok with oil and lit it with kerosene. They used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.
Several of our students, with the help of the teachers and firemen tried to put out the fire too.
Students learnt the importance of having a fire extinguisher in putting out fires.
