Mr Brian Ravi wanted to indulgent Pathlight students in Singapore’s favourite sport- soccer. But we do not have a field instead we use our basketball court and started street soccer.
Practice started on 27 March 2007. Street soccer was opened to all primary school students. We have nine students who signed up. The objective of the game was to teach students motor skills and team components. Playing a team sport also help the students build on teamwork and communication skills.
Mr Ravi believes in motivating the students and encouraging them in executing different skills. The lessons are interesting because Mr Ravi always teaches them a new skill.
And at the end of each practice session, the students play against each other and are encouraged to score goals.
The students still need time to learn the game concepts and team strategies before they can compete.
