Pathlight School’s first Autism Gym was set up at Ministry of Education’s ExcelFest 2008 at Suntec Convention Centre on 4 & 5 July 2008. ExcelFest is an annual exhibition held to reflect the focus of the Innovation and Enterprise spirit in Singapore’s schools and people.
Pathlight’s exhibition booth was converted into a gym to debunk myths about Autism and provide Autism facts to our visitors. Visitors were also provided 7 Autism Strategies to keep them ‘fit’ for interacting with people affected by Autism.
The overwhelming number of visitors who came to our booth on both days enjoyed the fruitful gym sessions where our ‘Autism Gym Instructors’ brought them through a series of ‘exercises’ to built their knowledge in Autism.
Guest-of Honor for the event, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen and VIP, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Education, Ms Grace Fu, visited our booth during the talent showcase segment. They mingled with our very talented Secondary Three artist Nicholas Toi.
