TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS

31 Aug 2009

With MOE's advice that mass activities could once again commence, all students came together to celebrate and pay tribute to all their teachers. Students rehearsed and performed song items, piano and poem recitals for the special people who have been patiently and diligently nurturing them.

A big thank you also to all parents who had worked hard to prepare little gift cards for each teacher.

Teachers were also surprised with a delicious box of cookies lovingly made and packed by our Track 3 students from the Bake Shop.

It was indeed a fun and meaningful day!

Poem written by Elliot Chia, Secondary 2 Ebony. This tribute was beautifully penned by Elliot in a mere 10 minutes.

My teachers are a great blessing,
They are good in mind and heart
Never stopping or relenting
Always willing to do their part

Hands both soft and nurturing
Yet strong enough to guide
Hearts never stopping young minds from growing
Yet able to enforce rules to abide

Ah what my life would be without teachers
Such thoughts I shudder to think
Like being frozen in a dam
Or our thoughts and lives at death’s brink

If you think they are trouble or a nuisance
You are sadly mistaken
Please take a closer glance
Or something important to you will be taken

My teachers are a great blessing,
They are good in mind and heart
Never stopping or relenting
Always willing to do their part

So now I summarize
What all teachers are
They care for you no matter what guise
Near or afar
