World Autism Awareness 2015: Public Concert and Exhibition at Ang Mo Kio Central

Close to 100 Students from Pathlight School, Eden School, Rainbow Centre and St Andrew’s Autism Centre gathered in high spirits at the Ang Mo Kio Central Stage on 22 May 2015 to celebrate World Autism Awareness Singapore 2015. Before the programme started, there were volunteers who distributed balloons and fliers to the heart landers at the nearby MRT station, market, and shopping mall to encourage them to come to join in the celebration.

Pathlight students from Performing Arts (Dance) and Music Ensemble were part of the celebration where they performed to an enthusiastic crowd of 300 people! The Performing Arts (Dance) students danced to Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk, while 14 members of the Music Ensemble performed the famous piece from Wong Fei Hung – 男儿 当自强 , enthralling the audience with their performances.

Student Artists from the school’s Artist Development Programme (ADP) not only displayed their works but also demonstrated their talent by drawing “live”. Many members of the public who stopped by, were intrigued to see the student artists at work.  The event was truly a joyous occasion to celebrate the diversity of talents among students with autism.
