STUDENTS WITH AUTISM HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE...
The internship in Eden School has helped me to have a better understanding of Autism. We are taught to use ASD friendly strategies such as visual aids to engage students in meaningful learning. Although the students have some learning difficulties, they try their best to communicate with us in their special way. I am extremely touched by the effort they put in and it strives me to work even harder.
Pathlight School is proud of all our 38 students' PSLE outcomes. Each one of them tried their best!
While academic achievements are important milestones to celebrate, the School knows that such achievements are not the only outcomes we aim for our students.
SOCIAL INTEGRATION PROGRAMME WITH RAFFLES INSTITUTION (RI)
Social integration is one of the important aspects in our Pathlight curriculum. On 1 November 2010, 30 Year 1 Raffles Institution students joined our Primary 6 students in their normal curriculum schedule.

As part of Pathlight’s whole-school approach towards holistic development, our Primary 6 students embarked on Project Brave Heart were- a push cart business to raise funds for the school’s Poor & Needy Fund.
Pathlight’s Preparatory and Lower Primary students went for their Term 4 Learning Journey to the Hort Park. This is part of the school’s emphasis on experiential learning which makes learning meaningful for our students
Walk into Pathlight School and the first thing you will see is a special gift shop, stocked with colourful items such as T-shirts, posters, notebooks, painted canvases and embroidered bags.
26 students from Pathlight took part in this exciting art competition. Glenn Phua, our Track 3 student, did the School proud by emerging the overall winner.
The Preparatory, Primary School and Track 3 students were treated to a mini carnival organized by Dell Singapore.There was a bouncing castle, as well as fun activities such as bowling and balloon sculpturing.
The staging of the inaugural Pathlight Musical was indeed a milestone for the School. Entitled “Yes We Can!”, the performance depicted an inspiring life journey with its ups and downs in the eyes of a Pathlighter.
Students from P1 to P3 went to Singapore Discovery Centre for their Term 3 Outing. During the trip, the students went for a magical 3D movie, SAFTI Bus Tour and a guided tour in the Discovery Exhibition Hall.
AARON YAP WON THE FIRST PRIZE IN THE ANNUAL VERY SPECIAL ARTS(VSA) COMPETITION
A big congratulations to Aaron Yap, our Secondary 1 student, for winning the first prize in VSA’s 2010 art competition! He came in first in the Shanghai Expo, Youth Category.
Aaron’s winning piece will be displayed at VSA’s art exhibition from 20 to 29 September at Forum The Shopping Mall.

"Pathlight Gives Back" to the autism community, on a fun-filled, glamorous Saturday evening. We have raised a total amount of $377,966.85, which exceeded our fundraising target. A HUGE THANK YOU to all!
The YOG torchbearers from Pathlight - Tong Qin Yuan (Track 3), Adrian Ignatius (Primary 5) and Daniel Lee (Secondary 1) - held the burning torch high as they passed it from one Pathlighter to another, amidst the cheers of more than 300 supporters right outside Pathlight School.
On 24 July 2010, our Primary 5 students headed down to the Padang to attend the National Day Parade National Education Show. Joining the throngs of students from all over the island, they got into the spirit of the occasion, cheering the Red Lions on enthusiastically, and singing along to the all-familiar tunes like Stand Up for Singapore and Home.
The Primary 3 & 4 students went on a learning journey to the Healthzone on 19th and 26th July respectively.The purpose was to enrich their knowledge on Healthy Eating, a target competency skill this term in the Daily Living Skills curriculum.
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS WAITING TO ENTER INTO UNIVERSITIES IN YEAR 2011!
Youth for Autism (YFA) is a 5 months program specially created for students waiting to enter university. This program promotes awareness of Autism and also gives students a chance to interact and work with the staff and students in ARC(S), Pathlight School and/or Eden school.
4 high-spirited Pathlighters won the National Youth Business Challenge 2010 by selling recycled drink cartons! Apart from the overall title, the team also bagged a Gold Award and a Top Most Earth Friendly Enterprise Award. They rose to the challenge and faced the competition from 39 other teams from schools such as Raffles Institution and Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road).
Our Upper Primary and Track 3 students had a great time at the Singapore Garden Festival. The outing was sponsored by Gucci Singapore who also had some of their staff join our students for the outing.
The entire school came together to celebrate Racial Harmony Day on 21 July 2010. It was a day to celebrate Singapore's success as a racially harmonious nation.

Contrary to the findings of a controversial study which has been widely discredited,the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination for young chidren does not cause autism, most experts say.
