Special needs youth will get the opportunity to receive football coaching from professional coaches and develop their potential.
Home United FC is partnering Pathlight School to help the latter develop its first football team through a once monthly football coaching session. The project is funded by the Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC).
In 2011, we conducted our pilot design modules under the Pathlight IT & Design School, including Digital Arts, Illustration, Interactive Design & Web Publishing. Check out selected works from our students at our gallery section!
Pathlight School is proud to share that its P6 cohort of 60 students had done exceedingly well for their PSLE this year!
We would like to congratulate our students for their achievements and to acknowledge the role that their parents and our teachers had played to prepare them and encourage them to do their best for this important national examination.

JOB PLACEMENT FOR THE AUTISM COMMUNITY: WORK IN PROGRESS
Educators and job coaches from ARC's upcoming Job Centre, Eden School, Eden Centre for Adults and Pathlight School work together to seek jobs suitable for the autism community. Here they attentively listen to the manager of a major food company. The journey to prepare the students n young adults is paved with challenges especially to prepare them well so they can be respected and valued, not pitied. But it's a road worth taking.

Our Preparatory and Primary track students had the time of their lives at the Children’s Day celebration in school! The downpour during the initial start of the day did not dampen their moods at all as they had their mini class celebrations before heading out happily to explore each of the 36 games stations.
PATHLIGHT WINS THINKQUEST GOLD CHAMPION SCHOOL AWARD
Pathlight has been named as the only school in Singapore to be awarded the ThinkQuest Gold Champion School for our involvement in ThinkQuest projects. This prestigious award is given only to educational institutions where both students and educators actively utilise web-based learning and interaction platforms.
The Minister for Education, Mr Heng Swee Keat and Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ms Sim Ann were at Pathlight School for a visit and dialogue session with our school leaders and educators.
In an interview after a tour of our premises, the Education Minister announced that MOE will be looking to boost capacity and quality of education in the special needs sector. He further added that
Pathlight will be gradually boosting its capacity to 900 by end 2013.
For the last six years, Member of Parliament Denise Phua has championed special needs education so that those like her son, who has autism, will not get left behind.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong spoke about the Special Needs community in his 2011 National Day Rally speech. He praised Pathlight School for its good work and mentioned the National Day Observance Ceremony for Ang Mo Kio GRC that was held at Pathlight.
Following the Rally speech, families with special needs children greatly welcomed the Prime Minister's plans for the SPED community. They expressed their concerns over how the higher cost of special education impacted on their other children, the lack of available vacancies at special schools and how their children could not cope in mainstream schools.
Our Pathlighters had a whale of a time at East Coast Beach building sandcastles with volunteers from UBS AG. Sandcastle building is an experiential activity that cultivates resilience, creativity, confidence and communication. Our students took to the activity with much enthusiasm and ease.

PATHLIGHT CHOSEN AS VENUE FOR NATIONAL DAY OBSERVANCE CEREMONY FOR ANG MO KIO GRC
Pathlight was honoured to have been chosen as the venue for this year's National Day Observance Ceremony for the Ang Mo Kio GRC. The event was graced by Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, who is also the MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC.
Pathlight School celebrated Singapore's 46th Birthday with special activities and a National Day Concert for the Upper Primary, Secondary and Vocational Track students and a Mini Olympics for the Preparatory & lower Primary students.

Pathlight School was mentioned in Prime Minister Lee’s speech on how the Government will expand capacity in both SPED and mainstream schools, and strive to raise quality in SPED schools.
PM LEE KICKS OFF N-DAY AT PATHLIGHT, THE STRAITS TIMES
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong kicked off National Day bright and early yesterday morning with an observance ceremony at Pathlight School for his Teck Ghee ward.
Singapore will be adopting the Danish concept of a human library where volunteers (each specialising in a different field) will, if selected by a reader, engage in discussion and answer questions on their field. Mrs Ng Sock Kian from Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) formed part of the pool of volunteers that made up the catalogue of "human books".
CARTON WONDERS II WINS SILVER AWARD AT NATIONAL YOUTH BUSINESS CHALLENGE 2011
Our team of six students from our Secondary and Vocational Tracks competed against more than 40 schools from all over Singapore for the “greenest” business idea and won the Silver Award and Most Attractive Display Award at this year’s NYBC on 3 July 2011!
5 OUT OF 6 WINS FOR PATHLIGHTERS @ MY DREAM ART COMPETITION BY MILK FUND
Our Pathlighters swept 5 out of 6 prizes at MILK Fund’s My Dream Art Competition! The Primary category saw all Top 3 prizes won by our students, Wong Jun Xiang, Joseph Lim and Qays Aquilla while in the Secondary category; both 2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to Ron Ng and Cedrick Chia respectively.
Racial Harmony Day was a colourful affair at Pathlight School with many students and staff dressed in traditional attire like baju kurungs, cheongsams, saris and Punjabi suits. The entire school came together to celebrate our national diversity and rich cultural traditions through a host of activities and a concert.
"There's a Hero In Me". Not only did AVSW 2011 bring everyone together for fun and exercise, it also brought in much needed funds for youths and adults with autism to help them lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives! A BIG THANK YOU to all!!

ARC and Pathlight School recognize that it is not just about work all the time. As part of its team building exercise, ARC/Pathlight brought more than 200 of its staff to Universal Studios Singapore on 24 June 2011 for a day of fun! Everyone had an absolute blast that day!
