Recently, our Secondary 3 students participated in a Community Involvement Project at Sunlove Home, a Daycare Centre for dementia patients. As part of the Life Readiness Curriculum and the school’s emphasis on the 5C values, the visit aimed to reinforce two of the 5C values of ‘Compassion’ and ‘Contribution’. Our students had a hand in planning the activities and they interacted with the residents through fun activities such as Bingo, workouts and simple games to improve their skills and dexterity. It was a meaningful project for them and the visit truly reinforced in our students the values of compassion, respect, patience and care towards the community’s elderly.
