Now Everyone Can Code

Now Everyone Can Code

Our IT & Design Academy roadmap to develop Pathlighters in their ICT skills has been given a boost with Apple’s coding development programme, the Swift Accelerator Programme!

A trail-blazing first for the SPED sector, our partnership with Apple will help to maximise our students’ potential and better prepare them for the workplace of the future. With our students’ natural aptitude and interest in ICT and coding, the Swift Accelerator Programme will help to deepen their coding skills and competencies.

To mark the start of this initiative and partnership with Apple, two Pathlighters from our Coding CCA programme were invited to showcase the apps that they developed at the launch. Students Kaeden Chan and Chua Teck Yang shared their dreams of developing their own apps on the App Store. Kaeden said: “I want to be more than an end user of computers. I want to become an app developer and build games”. Whilst for Teck Yang, he shared that he “wants to create a useful app that helps others debug their codes.”

The Swift Accelerator Programme is a 144-hour programme conducted by Apple Certified Trainers for a select group of Secondary School students who will be selected based on their aptitude and interest in coding.

Look out for our future app developers and technopreneurs!
